“Supernatural Encounters!”

We greet you in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ of Nazareth! Alma and I are praying for each person that receives this, and God hears our prayers, so something good is going to happen to you! Praise the Lord!

“After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him two by two into every town and place where he himself was about to go.” (Luke 10:1, NEV)  We want to thank each one for allowing us to visit in this letter, and sit with you a moment and share about what our ministry is doing and about the new roads we consistently travel! You are so important to us, especially as we move by faith! God bless you!

During the month of May, we traveled to Alvin, Bullard, Gun Barrel City and Liberty, Texas, and then to Blue Eye and Reeds Springs, Missouri. We took part in 5 services and the trip ended up being around 2,500 miles by pickup. We were at some great meetings, and we saw God do some miraculous things and the prophetic word moved mightily.

Alma and I have been traveling for Jesus for well over 40 years. Part of that time we went apart, and now we travel together, but the highway is always before us. It never ceases because it is what Jesus called us to do. We have seen some amazing sights and we have personally observed the Hand of God all throughout. We have won many lost, preached the Good News to people and enjoyed the expectation that when we least expect it, God will do something new and unexpected, so we have to always watch everything and pay attention to detail.

40 years ago, my son and I were in a certain Texas town on a Friday night, and we had a couple of days before we had to move on, so we stayed in an inexpensive hotel, and during the night, I dreamed that a man came walking out of a mall in that town. I was sitting in our pickup in the parking lot, and when I looked at him, I suddenly realized that he was my best friend from elementary school. I hadn’t seen him in years and I went running over to him and I said, “Hello! What are you doing?” He got a sad look on his face and said, “My wife just left me”. I woke up immediately and thought, “What in the world does that crazy dream mean? I wonder what God is trying to tell me?”

The next morning (Saturday) I got up and after my devotion time, I sat there waiting for my son to get ready, and in the time before computers and cell phones there was nothing to do, so I looked around and there was the telephone book, and I used to enjoy looking through it in places I had never been to see if there was anyone who had my last name. As I was looking through it, I suddenly remembered the dream. Out of curiosity, I looked to see if the name of the person in the dream was there, and to my shock, there was a person with his name in the book. His name was more or less uncommon, so I worked up the nerve and called the number from the motel telephone. A man answered and I said, “I apologize for the call, but did you go to school in Houston?” He said, “Who is this?” I said, “This is Mark Scrivener”. He said in a surprised tone, “What are you doing?” I said, “I am calling you. I am in town, and maybe later on I could stop by.” He said, “I’d love to see you, but today is not a good day. My wife just left me!”

I was flabbergasted. That was exactly what I had dreamed. I had not spoken to him in many years and I didn’t know what he believed, so I took a chance and I said, “You may have a hard time with this…” Then I told him the dream from the night before. It wasn’t a month before, it was the very night before and it was exactly what was going on. I learned since then that, in my case, a very short and concise dream can be prophetic and actually be called a “night vision” and be literal. He believed me and was as surprised as I was, so he said, “The house is a mess, but come on over”. I went over for about 30 minutes to not wanting to bother him in his horrible time, and we were able to talk. He told me that he was a believer, but I got the idea that he was not serving God at that time. I was able to share with him that Jesus had involved me because Jesus wanted me to tell him that He wanted to help him. I told him that Jesus loved him with His Whole Heart and that He was extending a Hand of love to him and then I prayed for him, and then went on our way.

We kept up with each other after that, and said hello via text on holidays and made sure that I knew where he was and kept him abreast of my location, and just a couple of years ago, my friend called me and told me he was coming through town with his new wife, and that he wanted to meet for lunch. We met, and I asked him what he was doing and he said that he had begun going on mission trips to feed, clothe and house poor people for Jesus. I was very happy to see how Jesus was working in his life. Could that have been why Jesus sent me to him?  We have experienced that sort of thing on many different occasions throughout the years. In fact, if we are sent to a church, many times that sort of thing works in the church services. I used to tell people that it was as if the Holy Spirit followed us around and would sovereignly pour himself out on individuals and churches where we would go, and sometimes it caused us to be asked to leave, so we are very careful to avoid saying too much about it so that anyone involved knows that we have little or nothing to do with it.

Recently, as I was meditating on Luke 10, I saw that Jesus sent the 72 out two by two to the places that He planned to go afterwards. Then I saw it! He was following us, not because we had gone, but He had actually sent us on ahead of Himself because He planned to go there and wanted for us to go to prepare. He had His Eye on that person or place all along! Please pray for us so that we are allowed to keep following the Holy Spirit down our road to Mt. Zion!

Thank you for remembering that PayPal, CashApp, and Zelle are available, not to mention the return envelope, and we also have text to give. We greatly appreciate you and God does too! He promises to bless the cheerful giver! Thank you for all you do for us! We are winning!
