"Resurrection"
Alma and I greet you in the Name of Jesus the Messiah from Nazareth! We pray that each one receives everything that the Bible promises to God’s faithful children who are walking in the fullness of God. Praise the Lord!
“For if their rejection brought reconciliation to the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?” (Romans 11:15, NIV)
We appreciate so much this wonderful opportunity to sit with you in your quiet place and be able to share with you this heartfelt letter that gives you a little insight into what we are doing in the ministry, and how much God is moving in and around what we do. Thank you so much. Your support in prayer and otherwise is so important to us!
As many of you know, besides our almost constant traveling and preaching, we have a YouTube channel, (@dr.markscrivener), and almost since we began to broadcast on June 21, 2024, we have been on the air in between 2 and 3 hours per day, every day, 365 days per year, even holidays. At the time of the writing of this newsletter, we have 7,132 subscribers, and it is constantly growing. In the crowd of subscribers, there are Christians, Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Agnostics, Atheists and I am sure any other religion that exists in the world today. There have even been people that call themselves witches or warlocks. It is an amazing group of people. The stories I tell are just a couple of the ones that we know about, but there are so many more that we do not know about. All we know is that they got saved, and there have been as many as 50 per week.
There is a group of people that come on that are known as “trolls”, or in other words, people who come in to ridicule, be a general nuisance or to blaspheme. Throughout the time we have been on the air, we have had an amazing response to the salvation prayer. I have found that if I respond to the trolls as people, and not just block them out, many wonderful things can happen. Some of the strongest daily members of the group began as trolls, and because we listen to them as people, and not just some negative writing on a computer screen, we have enjoyed a great many of them who have received Jesus as their Savior. There are two or three scientists that I know of from different parts of the world. Two of the three came on to troll the broadcast, but since we dealt with them as people and tried to answer their questions, they have chosen to stay with us. One such scientist from the United States came on one day and said that he had gathered a room full of his very educated peers, who were joining in with him, who had so many questions about the Lord Jesus, and were curious. Nearing the end of the broadcast, we always share the prayer of salvation with the folks, and our scientist friend said that a great many in the group joined in with us and prayed the sinners prayer, and then listened to our advice afterwards about what to do after you get saved. We have not experienced this type of success before in our ministry, as far as sharing Jesus with the lost.
People are very hungry for something real, approachable and easy to understand. We know that some of the professions of people listening are very complicated, and it is interesting to note that the more educated, although they can understand depth, and want to get past basic things, they really prefer the Good News preached with a smile with a childlike simplicity. Nobody wants to hear that they are sinners and are all doomed to hell. They have joined in because they want to fill the emptiness inside, and they know that the world and what they have seen in life before the broadcast has not fit the bill.
We have tried very hard to use wording that matches the culture of others. As we learned as missionaries on the foreign field, people do not want to be United States Americans, they want to learn to be followers of and believers in the Lord Jesus. Jesus was not from the United States. One man came on recently and said that he was a Hasidic Jew. He said that he was not involved a lot in his religion anymore because it left him feeling empty inside. I welcomed him and told him that we offer him love and reality with no condemnation, if he was interested. He listened to the Good News about Jesus and saw the joy in people, and he told me that he was going to think about it. The very next evening, he returned and told us that he had decided to receive the Lord Jesus as his Messiah, and we led him to Jesus. After he came in, other Jews started approaching.
A door has opened. The Bible says that the Jewish people were rejected because God wanted to make room for the gentiles, (non-Jews), to come to salvation. He also said that Jerusalem would be under the control of gentiles until their time was fulfilled. I am always amazed at the Scripture reference at the beginning of this letter that says, “if their rejection meant life to gentiles, what would their acceptance mean other than resurrection?” I think that what we are seeing is proof that we are nearing the time of the end.
